Kristian Alfonso Wants To Quell Fears About Demise Of 'Days Of Our Lives'

No More Days???

People have been expressing their sadness and fears that DOOL was going to leave Salem for the final time.

“Damn, I woke up from a migraine and see Days of Our Lives is trending. I was like freaking out," tweeted @SuperCoupleGal, who added that the show means a lot to many many people.

"But seriously, #Days is the longest running show on NBC and got me through my teens & breakups & was my constant. They aren’t allowed to ever cancel that show without my permission,”

“If #Days gets cancelled, I’ll be down to 2 soaps. Please don’t leave Days Of Our Lives,” said @soapsfan31.

You Heard It From Hope

Kristian Alfonso, who has played Hope Brady on the daytime soap opera "Days Of Our Lives" since the 1980s, says that people need to dial it back a little amid concerns that the show is ending.

Alfonso went on Instagram to reach fans, and posted a video that shows her getting ready for something (presumably another "Days Of Our Lives" episode.)

She also brought along one of the show's writers, saying "And I have someone to confirm that."

“We are still here! We are not going anywhere … Don’t listen to rumors.”

But they were all let go from their contracts this week.

Will Horton Confirms It

Chandler Massey, who plays Will Horton on the show, also went online to calm people's fears that their favorite show would leave them. Massey sounds pretty sure about his statement, and offered proof, saying that they have a lot of episodes in the can -- enough to last them through the hiatus.

"We’re not being cancelled. We are pausing production because we are so far ahead of schedule (and it saves us $). Days will still air during the entire hiatus, so you won’t miss anything!"

'That Is Ridiculous'

Camila Banus, who plays Gabi Hernandez, was a bit more forward with her message. She went on Twitter live in an attempt to assuage viewers.

“I have not been fired from Days of Our Lives. That is ridiculous. None of my co-stars have been fired from the show … [It’s] fake, false news.”

People is citing a source that says the show will "almost definitely" be renewed.

“The show will almost definitely get renewed and this was not news to literally anyone on the show, nor is anyone truly concerned,” the source continues.

More Days To Come

And it's true that the show will continue -- at least for now. They do have a big enough stockpile of episodes so that people can watch new plot twists into next year. But really, the show shouldn't scare fans like this. They need their soaps.
