Kristen Wiig & Ana Gasteyer Join The Groundlings To Raise $215k Benefitting Below-The-Line Workers

The Groundlings comedy troupe helped raise $215k for the Motion Picture & Television Fund benefitting below-the-line workers impacted by the strikes with a one-of-a-kind event called One Night Only.

On Thursday, current and past members of The Groundlings, including Kristen WiigKristen Bell, Ana Gaystayer and Will Forte, performed an improvised version of the Broadway musical A Chorus Line and they only had 24 hours to prepare.

In the audience of the sold-out event were Pedro Pascal, Patty Jenkins, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Ron Pearlman, Chris Pine, Dan Bucatinski, Dax Shepard, Camryn Manheim, Sara Gilbert and Abigail Spencer, among many others.

“The Groundlings is where it started for me as a performer and writer. I owe so much to the people there, the teachers and the stage itself. To be a part of this group, helping to do something that is going to provide some relief to those who need it in our industry right now, means a lot,” Wiig shared in a statement.

One Night Only is presented by The Groundlings in association with SenovvA Inc, directed by Andrew Leeds and produced by Beth Wishnie, Joanna Leeds, Andrew Leeds, Clifford Murray, and Michelle Noh.
Wilkie Ferguson oversees musical direction.
