Kristen Doute on Her Second Chance With The Valley

Some reality TV fans thought Kristen Doute would never work again after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020. She faced a lot of backlash and criticism after news broke that she was involved in a problematic situation with one of her VPR co-stars, Faith Stowers, who was also the only Black cast member on the show.

She told Life & Style that her fingers were “crossed” regarding a potential Bravo comeback. And thankfully for her, her wish came true with the network’s newest series, The Valley. “There’s no way to prepare for that,” she said.

“Here I am, and it has been so many years. So I was really hoping that people were going to be open to that and seeing there’s such a huge change we’ve all gone through since the pandemic really, but especially for me and my love life and trying to have a baby and all of that. But I pleasantly surprised everyone has been, for the most part, really, really kind and supportive.”

Has Kristen really learned since her VPR firing?

One would think that since Kristen had been blacklisted from reality television for a brief period following her alleged racist incident with Faith, she would be more careful with her words. However, the situation keeps rearing its ugly head.

In an earlier episode of The Valley, Kristen found herself in deep waters with her co-stars, Jesse and Michelle Lally. They slammed her for spreading a negative rumor that Michelle was a “racist and a Republican.”

“You disrespected my family name,” Jesse told Kristen. “We have a business that we run together. If something like that gets out, you’re ruining lives. You were thrown off a show for being an actual racist.”

Later, during her confessional with producers, Kristen reflected on her behavior, calling it a “mistake.”

“[But Jesse is] just trying to ruin my name by bringing up the most painful thing that I’ve ever gone through. I understand why Michelle is upset. It is the worst thing in the world to be labeled as anything, let alone a racist. And nobody knows better than me because it happened to me, and I was canceled.”

She finished, saying she “learned from my mistakes” and hopes she can move forward by leaving this in the past. “These are my friends sitting here; they know my past, and all I wanted to do was pick up the pieces and move on with my life, be a good person. People finally gave me a chance again, and now it’s brought up all over again, and now I’m gonna have to relive it again. I hope that my whole life doesn’t fall apart again
