There goes Kristen Bell keeping it real again — and we are absolutely here for it! The actress, known for her relatable manner and willingness to share unfiltered details about her private life with husband Dax Shepard, is back at it with a series of honest comments about her diet and mental health in a new interview.

We particularly enjoyed this tidbit: “I have to eat carbs because I have to memorize 11 pages of dialogue, and I can’t do that eating spinach and chicken,” the vegetarian actress told Women’s Health. We have just one word in response to that: preach.

The Good Place star detailed an average day of eating, and we’re hungry just reading it. She typically starts her day with matcha with Ripple pea milk, orders a breakfast of egg whites, spinach, tomato, and extra feta from craft services, and has a midmorning salt bagel with cream cheese — routinely making the same joke about it being “bagel day.”

For lunch, it’s a “garbage disposal salad” — lettuce, avocado, raisins, carrots, blue cheese and cucumbers. But if something delicious comes down the pike, she’s not going to turn it down. “I’m not super restrictive,” she said. “If they make au gratin potatoes, I’m going to have some, but I am mindful of the portion I take. I find that through conscious eating, I’m able to have all the rewards and also maintain a healthy, steady diet.”

Dinner is generally something along the lines of Banza chickpea pasta with cherry tomatoes and olive oil. And, yes, she cooks for herself and her family, though she does have help with meal prep and shopping from her sister-in-law.

All this healthy eating isn’t just about looking good — it’s about feeling good. Bell said she has fallen in love with group fitness classes of late, and has found herself, unexpectedly, in the best shape of her life, which makes her feel amazing on many levels.

“I feel so much stronger, and it’s a physical feeling, but it’s also a mental one,” Bell said. Exercise, she added, “should be the first stop for anyone who experiences depression or anxiety because it encourages serotonin and endorphins. I feel so much more centered, patient, capable. It sets the next 48 hours for me.”

Bell has been open about her struggles with anxiety and depression, confirming to Women’s Health that she takes an SSRI antidepressant every day to help her cope with what she calls “waves of serotonin imbalance.” She also takes CBD oil daily, which she says helps quiet her mind and its endless task list making. Once again, we can relate to Bell on many levels — and we love her more than ever. Is it bagel day?
