Krispy Kreme Drops 4 New Heart-Shaped Donuts for Valentine's Day

The Dough-Notes collection includes a cookie dough, cake batter, strawberry and chocolate donut — and the box has room for a sweet note

Krispy Kreme knows how to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit.

On Monday, the donut chain introduced the Dough-Notes collection — four new heart-shaped (and cream-filled!) donuts. The seasonal treats are available from Jan. 29 through Valentine’s Day.

The red sprinkled donut, “You Color My World,” is filled with cake batter Kreme filling, and the pink, sugar-covered “You’re Berry Sweet” donut is filled with classic white filling and dipped in strawberry icing and sprinkles.

For chocolate lovers, the chocolate-filled and chocolate-iced “I Love You A Choco-Lot” donut is the perfect choice — a pretty one, too. (It comes with an adorable rose piped on top!)

Finally, the sweetly named “Without You I’d Crumble” donut comes with cookie dough Kreme filling, and is topped with chocolate icing and chocolate chip cookie crumble.

The four donuts aren't just delicious, they're functional, too. The pun-ily named Dough-Notes collection can be purchased by the a dozen — which includes two of each flavor, as well as four classic glazed donuts — in a box that includes space for a handwritten note.

Guests can personalize the Valentine’s Day gift themselves, and Krispy Kreme employees will also use the custom box to write notes to customers, per the chain.

A six-pack of the heart-shaped treats — which features the cake batter donut, the chocolate donut and the chain’s classic chocolate iced with Valentine’s Day sprinkles — will be available in select grocery stores, including Walmart, Kroger, Food Lion, Publix, Stater Brothers, Wakefern and more.

Dairy Queen is also all in on the love holiday. DQ announced that it will be bringing back its Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat and Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Cupid Cake — two red and pink-themed desserts — for Valentine’s Day starting on Jan. 29.

DQ’s Red Velvet Cake Blizzard features red velvet cake pieces, cream cheese icing topped off with the company’s soft serve which seeks to bring a “luxurious and velvety smooth experience” to customers celebrating the season of love.

The Cupid Cake is a trendy, heart-shaped cake with a base layer of DQ’s vanilla soft serve, a center of red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese icing. It's topped with a layer of Red Velvet Cake Blizzard.
