In an Instagram video she posted on August 13, Statlander confirmed that she suffered a “completely torn ACL and lateral meniscus”. She subsequently had surgery on September 7, and she has been recovering ever since.
On November 20, Statlander shared her thoughts about her absence and noted that while she’s proud of what she has accomplished so far, she can’t wait to have the best years of her career when she returns. She made it clear that she misses wrestling, and she’s inspired by everyone else.
Right now, not being able to wrestle, I try to look at what I’ve accomplished. I’m so proud of my work, but I’ve barely even scratched the surface. I’m inspired by everything and everyone and I can’t wait to have the best years of my career when I’m back. I miss it so much.
