K-pop: K-pop has gained widespread popularity in the U.S., and many modern South Korean pop bands such as BLACKPINK and BTS enjoy success on an even wider international scale, but the '90s is considered one of the best eras for the genre as European pop, jazz and hip-hop began taking shape in the sound. In 1998, the trio Koyote released the song "Genuine," which became a hit single in South Korea with many more to follow.

Koyote is still going two decades later with original member Shin Ji with Cha Seung-Min and Kim Goo.

Koyote will perform on Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Rock: Sounds of the '60s such as R&B, jazz and soul are central to 37-year-old guitarist and vocalist Nick Waterhouse's music. In 2010, Waterhouse independently released the 7-inch single "Some Place/That Place," which can be found for hundreds of dollars on various sites, before recording his debut album, "Time's All Gone," on Innovative Leisure Records. He released his sixth album, "The Fooler," in April.

Waterhouse has been featured in advertising campaigns for Brooks Brothers, MR PORTER and the song "Time's All Gone" appeared in a 2014 Lexus commercial.
