Welp, it’s official(ish) — Kourtney Kardashian is leaving Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The eldest child of the Kardashian-Jenner clan confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she has decided to step out of the reality TV spotlight to focus her attention on her three children: Mason Dash, 9, Penelope Scotland, 7, and Reign Aston, 4. And, as if to cement her intent to scale back on the family series, Kourtney shared a meaningful and seemingly pointed message on social media early Saturday.

Earlier this week, Kourtney appeared on Entertainment Tonight alongside sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian. Asked if she was ready to leave the reality series that had catapulted their family into fame, Kourtney confirmed, “I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there. But I’m not saying goodbye. I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed.”

So, it doesn’t seem coincidental that Kourtney took to Instagram on Saturday to caption a post about her and her kids, “We have everything we need.” In the accompanying photos and videos from the post, Kourtney and her little ones seem to be enjoying a rustic evening outside, watching the sunset over the hills.

If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians — and, you know, Keeping Up With the Kardashians — Kourtney’s announcement likely doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The last few years have been rocky between her and her sisters, with much of the tension spilling onto KUWTK. In one particularly heated exchange over taking pictures for the family Christmas card, Kim seethed, “I need Kourtney to not be so f***ing annoying with a stick up her ass like she runs this sh*t, because she doesn’t… she is the least exciting to look at, so she can be out.”

Ouch. But as emotional as the journey has been, Kourtney has stood her ground and made it clear that her priorities are with her children and giving them beautiful experiences and authentic memories with their mom. And, for now, it would seem the sisters have reached an understanding. They’ve been promoting their fragrance collaboration together in recent weeks, and Kim “liked” Kourtney’s sunset-hike-with-the-kids post.

Plus, Khloé and Kourtney feel confident the show will literally and figuratively go on.

“We definitely love Kourtney and we will miss Kourtney and whatever she decides to do, but people come, people go all the time in this family,” she said. “We feel like it’s a revolving door, so Kourtney might leave this week, but she’ll be back. They all come back.”
