Kourtney Kardashian Is 'Much Kinder to Herself' as She Grows Older: She 'Just Gets Better with Age' (Source)

Kourtney Kardashian is giving herself more grace as she grows older.

The Poosh Founder — who turned 45 on Thursday, April 18 — is focused on what matters as she heads into the next chapter of her life, a source tells PEOPLE.

“Kourtney is one of these people that just gets better with age,” the source says. “As she’s getting older, things that mattered in the part, no longer [matter] to her.

“She is much kinder to herself, tries not to stress and is very happy with life,” the insider adds.

The source also shares that Kardashian is “in a great place” right now and has been prioritizing “a lot of family time” over work. Her husband Travis Barker has been a big influence on her finding “inner peace” and she “seems calmer, much happier and content with life,” the insider adds.

The Blink-182 drummer, 48, celebrated his wife’s 45th birthday on Instagram with photos of some of their most memorable moments, which included the mom of four (who also shares children Mason Dash, 14, Penelope Scotland, 11, and Reign Aston, 9, with ex-Scott Disick) cuddling with their 5-month-old son Rocky Thirteen Barker in bed.

Other shots showed the proud parents kissing in front of an airplane as Travis held Rocky and one of the proud parents cuddling in the back of a boat.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife, soulmate and best friend forever. I love you, I love our life together,” he captioned the post. “Thank you for being the most amazing wife a person could ask for. Here's to many more years of adventures together ❤️‍🔥.”

A few days earlier, The Kardashians star revealed that she also celebrated her birthday early with loved ones and several different cakes. She shared an Instagram carousel — captioned “mood 🎈” — with photos from the celebrations.

The post included a shot of herself grinning on a yacht while posing beside a giant cake featuring a orange glittery cake topper that read, ‘Happy Birthday To The Most Exciting To Look At.’ The cake decoration was a reference to her sister Kim previously calling her “the least exciting to look at” during an episode of their former reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Another cake pictured blue icing that read, “Just Living Life,” referring to another of Kourtney's classic phrases on the show. The mom of four also shared looks at two more cakes, including a bright blue cake with a pink border and the words, ‘Aries Baby’ arranged in the center and a chocolate cake with strawberries and berries, a sparkler and ‘Happy Birthday’ written on it in icing.
