Celebrities and fans alike seem to be more conscientious about how problematic single-use plastic is. The latest example? Kourtney Kardashian and Chris Pratt are being shamed for using plastic water bottles. The Poosh founder and Jurassic World star have both come under fire in the last 24 hours — with Pratt being called out by a fellow celebrity.

On Tuesday, Pratt took to Instagram to announce his new store with Amazon and, in the photo for his social media promotion, Pratt was holding a plastic water bottle. It didn’t take long for Aquaman himself to take issue with the pic, writing, “Bro I love u but wtf on the water bottle. No single use plastic. Come on.” Pratt quickly acknowledged his mistake, though. “Aquaman! You’re completely right. Dammit. I always carry my big gallon size reusable water jug around with me too. I even had it that day!!!” As Pratt explained, he felt awkward on the day of the shoot about what to do with his hands. So, someone tossed him a water bottle to use as a prop.

FWIW, Momoa admittedly didn’t see his comment getting quite a much attention as it did. In a subsequent post on his own Instagram feed, Momoa wrote, “BRO you know my children and I are madly in love with you and I love everything you do. I’m sorry this was received so badly today I didn’t mean for that to happen.” He wrapped up his apology by offering to send Pratt a case of Mananalu, a new line of canned water he helped launch (aluminum is 100 percent recyclable).

Elsewhere in the internet world, Kardashian was catching flak of her own. On this week’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney came for sister Kim Kardashian West after Kardashian West drank bottled water. But later in the episode, Kardashian did the exact same thing. Fans called her out for the hypocrisy of it, with one laughing, “Love love love that @kourtneykardash gave @KimKardashian shit for drinking bottled water and in the VERY SAME episode, she is seen drinking bottled water.”

To her credit, Kardashian responded to the tweet, admitting the error of her ways. “I was in Kim’s office and that’s all that was there and no I’m not perfect, but I could have brought a reusable bottle for the day, this is true,” Kardashian said.

This undoubtedly won’t be the last we hear of celebrities getting dragged over single-use plastics. For starters, it’s a very real problem — 89 percent of all plastic in the ocean is single-use, making this a global issue. Many celebrities are now even holding themselves accountable. Last year, when the #BeatPlasticChallenge swept the internet, many celebrities called themselves out over using plastic water bottles and promised to do better. Among them? William Shatner, Gisele Bundchen, J.D. Scott and more.
