Who Is Kooze?

Kooze initially found fame on TikTok, where his creative remixes and mashups caught the attention of millions of users. At the same time, he made a priority of posting to Instagram Reels, where he continued to produce content that entertained and engaged his large following. His unique sound and style have made him one of the most popular remix artists out there. Whether he's producing a new track or spinning some tunes, Kooze always knows how to get the party started.
I was lucky enough to meet Kooze on two occasions in person. The first being one of his shows with Kyle Dion at SOB's on Houston Street in NYC. The second being an interview at a hotel in Williamsburg before his headlining show at Elsewhere in Bushwick, Brooklyn. On both occasions, it was so easy to notice just how good-natured and music-centric he is. Kooze has an extremely interesting story, and has translated that (plus a knack for connecting musical dots) into a successful music career.
Kooze spent time growing up in Japan, and is very culturally savvy. This quality extends into his music and personality, which both benefit greatly from it. Talk about a great quality for a DJ - his library of music gems is as extensive as his background.
You may have come across Kooze's content on either TikTok or Instagram -- neither would be surprising; he's everywhere at this point. With his hair hanging, eyes closed, and hands fine-tuning his DJ mixer, Kooze puts songs together that you'd never even think would be compatible, but lo and behold, they are.
It's not easy to pair unique songs together the way Kooze does, but somehow, it seems easy for him. Perhaps that's just his pure passion for the art form on display.
Who ever thought mashups would make such a comeback? In any event, we're lucky to have Kooze at the forefront.
