The iconic talk show has seen Shah Rukh Khan grace its couch in previous seasons. However, this time around, there seems to be a noticeable void. In an exclusive conversation at the Pinkvilla Masterclass, Karan Johar confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan won’t be making an appearance in the new season of the show. Karan Johar, the man behind the show, addresses this absence, saying, “With all due respect, he is there but I don’t think he wants to be in the forefront and speak. I think he deserves his silence. As fans and filmmakers, we should give him that.” This statement suggests that Shah Rukh Khan’s absence is not due to any strained relationship or lack of interest but rather a choice on the part of the superstar.

Shah Rukh Khan’s history with Koffee With Karan has been marked by intermittent appearances. He graced the show’s couch during its first three seasons, offering memorable moments and witty anecdotes. However, he chose to skip the fourth season, only to return in the fifth. The last two installments, including the current season 8, have not featured the King Khan.

As per speculations, this absence is due to Shah Rukh Khan’s desire for a more private life. After the tumultuous events surrounding his son’s detention in a drug case, the actor is guarded about his public appearances.

Karan Johar also revealed in the above-mentioned event that he would love to direct Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in a feature film once again. The first one was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) in 1995.
