Kodak Black Moved to Solitary Confinement: Report
Kodak Black has been moved to solitary confinement for 30 days, TMZ reports. The move comes after Kodak allegedly used the prison phone to connect him with another person with whom he was not allowed to speak. Kodak’s lawyer Bradford Cohen told Billboard, “In my 21 years of practice, I’ve never had someone get 30 days solitary for a three-way call.” According to the report, Kodak has asked for his tutor to visit him in solitary confinement, so that he can study to earn his GED. In addition, he’s reportedly asked for a laptop, which Cohen said is for him and Kodak to review electronic evidence when the lawyer goes to visit the rapper in the Broward County, Florida jail. The judge has not yet ruled on the requests. Pitchfork has contacted Bradford Cohen for comment and more information.
Kodak Black was arrested in January. The arrest stemmed from an incident in which Kodak’s young child was shown in the vicinity of marijuana and a handgun during an Instagram Live broadcast. He’s facing two charges: one count of possession of a firearm, ammunition, or weapon by a delinquent, and one count of possession of cannabis over 20 grams. He has pled not guilty to both charges.
Kodak Black was indicted on sexual assault charges in October and is currently awaiting trial.
