‘I Knew Instantly Someone Had Taken Her,’ Says Mother Of Teen Whose Body Was Found In 2018

The day before 18-year-old Arkansas high school senior Ebby Steppach vanished on October 25, 2015, family members say she told them that she had been sexually assaulted at a party. A police report was never filed. Several days after her family reported her missing, Ebby’s car was found in west Little Rock’s Chalamont Park, but there was no sign of the teenager. “I knew instantly someone had taken her,” said Ebby’s mother, Laurie, when she appeared on Dr. Phil in 2017. In May 2018, Ebby’s body was discovered in a drainage pipe in Chalamont Park, very near where her car was found.
