Kirstie Alley Considers Cashing In

We hear through the celebrity real estate gossip grapevine that industry-decorated sitcom queen Kirstie Alley (“Cheers,” “Fat Actress”) might like to cash in on the electrified high-end property market, and sell her long-owned estate on a celeb-lined street in L.A.’s affluent Los Feliz area. The Emmy, Golden Globes and People’s Choice Awards winner purchased the nearly 7,000-square-foot, early-’30s Mediterranean in the fall of 2000 for just under $3 million and, according to one broker we queried, the gated property would likely command a price commensurate with recent sales in the neighborhood that include a compound Red Hot Chili Pepper Michael Balzary sold last year for $6 million. The fearlessly self-deprecating comedic actress keeps a number of caged monkeys on the property that — so we’ve heard — sometimes screech to the annoyance of her neighbors, who include “Modern Family” star Jessie Tyler Ferguson and “The Big Bang Theory’s” Jim Parsons, who bought his celeb-pedigreed pad from “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson. Alley, a prominent and outspoken Scientologist, also owns a bayfront place near the organization’s headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., as well as a 16-plus-acre waterfront estate near Islesboro, Maine.
