How new Kingsman movie was influenced by X-Men: First Class
After a divisive second movie, filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is going back in time with a Kingsman prequel before making a third one.
Perhaps you might see this as a risky move, but Vaughn has experience with winding back the clock, having directed X-Men: First Class, which we can all agree is one of the top three films in the franchise. And he's learned a few what-not-to-dos from it.

"I'll tell you the difference between this movie and X-Men: First Class," he said at New York Comic-con. "What I learnt from that film is that when you're shooting characters that are known, it's hard to do plot twists.
"If I kill Professor X off, you guys are gonna go, 'Huh? Hold on...'
"So I wanted to design a movie that had hardly anything to do with the original Kingsman apart from the tailor shop. So this really is a proper origin story. People can watch this movie if they haven't seen Kingsman properly. People who hate Kingsman might reluctantly like this one."

Vaughn also said he watched a lot of classic movies like The Man Who Would Be King and Lawrence of Arabia, and actually used the same film lenses that the latter used. He admitted it was a headache, but he really wants to avoid using too much CGI.
The King's Man will be released in cinemas on February 14, 2020.
