The King's Man star Harris Dickinson and Sharp Objects actor Taylor John Smith will be joining Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones in new movie Where The Crawdads Sing, Deadline reports.

The movie is based on Delia Owens' best-selling 2018 novel of the same name, which has been a regular fixture on The New York Times Bestseller list.

Where The Crawdads Sing takes place in a small town in the US South in the 1960s and focuses on a young woman named Kya (Edgar-Jones) who, abandoned by her family, has survived alone in the marshes outside town for years.

She eventually develops relationships with two local boys, but when her former boyfriend is found dead, Kya – dubbed 'Marsh Girl' – becomes a suspect, with the townspeople and law enforcement alike putting her in the spotlight for his murder.

Dickinson will soon be seen starring in Kingsman prequel The King's Man alongside Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton and Rhys Ifans, while he has also appeared in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and The Darkest Minds.

Sharp Objects star Smith has also had roles in action horror movie Shadow in the Cloud opposite Chloë Grace Moretz and war movie The Outpost, which also starred Orlando Bloom.

Where The Crawdads Sing is directed by First Match's Olivia Newman, while Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild) will adapt the novel.

Witherspoon is also currently working on a third Legally Blonde movie, with actor Luke Wilson recently revealing that he would jump at the chance to reprise his role as Emmett Richmond from the first two movies.
