USA TODAY's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards ranked King's Island's Halloween Haunt in Mason, Ohio, No. 4 among the best theme park Halloween events of 2023. The local attraction ranked just above Castle Dark at Castle Park in Riverside, California (No. 5), and right behind Hallo-Fun at Knoebels in Elysburg, Pennsylvania (No. 3).

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld, which has multiple locations across the U.S., ranked No. 1 overall. HalloWeekends at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, also made the list, taking the No. 9 spot.

According to the ranking, Halloween Haunt at King's Island is an annual event that features "evil creatures, frightening mazes, haunted attractions, and night rides on The Beast, Banshee, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, and other thrilling attractions."
