King Charles is stepping out for a second day in a row of in-person royal duties.

The King, 75, has largely stepped out of the public eye amid his cancer treatment, but the palace shared photos of the monarch on Wednesday during audiences at Buckingham Palace in London. He was photographed shaking hands with Samba Mamadou Ba, the ambassador from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and Nourredine Yazid, the ambassador from the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Both men presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence to the monarch.

The palace also shared a photo of King Charles on an audience via video call with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Canada is part of the Commonwealth of Nations, made up of 56 countries that were for the most part once part of the British Empire, and the nation recognizes the British monarch as their head of state.

King Charles’ royal audiences on Wednesday came after he met with Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. This came a day before Hunt announced the government’s financial statement to the U.K. parliament.

According to the BBC, the meeting is part of the monarch’s constitutional duty as head of state. The monarch traditionally meets the chancellor the day before a budget is presented, but it is usually held in private, the outlet reported.

King Charles has been primarily staying on the royal family's Sandringham estate since the palace revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. However, he has traveled to London for treatment as well as meetings on several occasions. He was also pictured with U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in February.

As the details of King Charles' cancer diagnosis and Kate Middleton's abdominal surgery remain undisclosed, there are increasing calls for transparency within the royal family.

"Everybody feels unsettled by uncertainty, and there is too much uncertainty that is surrounding the monarchy right now," royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week's cover story.

"Even though he has revealed that he has a form of cancer, that has done nothing to quell the speculation about how seriously ill he may or may not be," says Bedell Smith. “That is not doing the monarchy any favors. He is the head of state, and there are constitutional implications."

On Monday, it was reported that King Charles could be making a visit to Australia later in the year. This would mark his first visit as Australia's head of state.

The country is "preparing for a possible visit from His Majesty The King to Australia later this year," Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, per local media outlet ABC.

"The King has shown his compassion for Australians affected by recent natural disasters, just as Australians have shown compassion and support for the King following his cancer diagnosis," Albanese, 61, continued. "The King, Queen and members of the royal family are always welcome in Australia. My government is engaging with states and territories on options for a possible royal visit."
