A Royal expert revealed that King Charles III and his heir, Prince William, decided to "ignore" and "freeze" out Prince Harry before his recent trip to Nigeria.

This report comes after Harry made a trip to London for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary but was unable to see his father due to the monarch being "too busy."

King Charles And Prince William Are Reportedly United Against Prince Harry

Charles and William are allegedly standing united against Harry and doing their best to keep their distance from the Duke of Sussex.

This claim was made to Fox News Digital by Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," amid criticism of Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, for their recent private trip to Nigeria.

He said, "They have chosen to ignore Harry, to freeze him out, and to not let him get under their skin when they are facing so many critical challenges. In a way, I think that is even sadder. It's been said that hate isn't the opposite of love – indifference is."

During the conversation, Andersen speculated on the royal divide, saying Harry's foreign trips aren't a surprise to the royal family, even when Meghan goes with him. The author doesn't believe that Charles and William "freezing" Harry out has anything to do with the trip to Nigeria, as the beef goes way back.

He said, "And I don't get the sense they begrudge Harry [for] his ties to Africa. Charles and William have crossed Harry off their list for a plethora of reasons, but making a brief trip with one reporter and one photographer in tow isn't one of them."

The Duke Has Not Spent Much Time With The Royal Family

Harry was in London just before the Nigeria trip to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games. However, he wasn't able to meet with Charles during his visit because the monarch had just resumed his Royal duties after treating his cancer for three months and was "too busy."

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex released a statement on Harry's feelings about not being able to see Charles. It read, "The duke, of course, is understanding of his father's... commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

The last time Harry was in London before this was to visit his father after he announced his cancer diagnosis.

The Duke has not visited his family regularly since he and Meghan quit their senior royal positions in 2020 and moved to California with their kids. However, after his trip to see Charles, Harry shared that he thought the illness would bring their family closer.

The Royal Family Is Allegedly Upset About The Couple's Nigeria Trip

Another Royal author, Tom Quinn, recently spoke to The Mirror about Charles and William being "furious" about the Sussex's trip to Nigeria.

He said the Royal Family was "worried" because Harry and Meghan seemingly portrayed the trip as an official royal visit. Quinn noted that they had the "receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled."

The royal expert stated: "Meghan and Harry's speeches and their whole attitude have been designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals, and William and his father King Charles don't like it one bit."

Quinn  added, "For Charles and William, it's as if Meghan and Harry are saying, 'We don't need your permission to be working royals – we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like.'"

In response to Quinn's statements, Andersen noted that Harry and Meghan have "significantly scaled back their entourage" and had only one reporter and photographer during their time in Nigeria, which is much smaller than the arrangement for regular royal visits.

He said, "My sense is that they are taking pains not to appear as if they are overstepping their bounds. Right now, the royal family is united in its determination to act as if Harry and Meghan don't exist. One hopes that won't last forever and that either William or the king will be courageous and far-sighted enough to take the olive branch Harry repeatedly extends to them."

Andersen further said that it could actually be beneficial for the royal family to reconcile and offer Harry and his family a "legitimate part-time royal role." The author stated that it could be a "huge shot in the arm for the monarchy" as they are battling multiple health issues for senior royals and need lots of help.

Did Prince Harry And Meghan Markle 'Exploit Their Royal Status'

According to Royal expert Michael Cole, Harry and Meghan's trip to Nigeria echoed elements of official foreign visits by active royal members.

Cole told the DailyMail that although the couple were on "a private visit by two royal personages," they "exploited their royal status to the very limit and in every way, trying to give the impression that it was the real thing."

He added that while their trip was not "proposed by Buckingham Palace and sanctioned by the British government" and was not an "official visit or a royal tour," their actions during the visit conveyed a sense of officiality to "such an extent that they will return to California well satisfied with their three days in Nigeria."
