King Charles returned to public duties earlier this week, resuming engagements as he continues to undergo cancer treatment.

"Doctors are sufficiently pleased with the progress made so far that The King is now able to resume a number of public-facing duties," a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said. "Forthcoming engagements will be adapted where necessary to minimise any risks to His Majesty’s continued recovery."

His appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse show isn't just notable because of his ongoing cancer treatment, but it actually marks his return to the event for the first time in 45 years. He last attended in 1979, when he wasn't a spectator, but rather, a competitor, showjumping on his horse Candlewick during a triathlon event.
