Kate Middleton has been on the receiving end of quite a few internet rumors lately, and now, it looks like it’s King Charles III’s turn. The monarch’s conspiracy theories about his health didn’t start on social media, though, it was revealed by British TV personality Carole Malone on the Jeremy Vine on 5 show today.

Malone was discussing Charles’ health situation with Vine when he noted, “Well, he didn’t tell us what cancer he has.” And that’s when a new rumor was birthed, right there on live TV. Malone responded, “Well, he doesn’t have cancer. What he had was a prostate procedure. He let it be known… I don’t know if it is cancer.” Wait.. what?! Malone is implying that King Charles isn’t telling the truth about his health.

Vine tried hard to quickly get the show back on track because he realized that Malone had dropped a bomb they probably didn’t want to have to deal with. “He had a prostate test. The prostate was fine. He was diagnosed with cancer of another part,” he stated while viewers were subject to a lot of talk about the king’s prostate. Malone wouldn’t budge and she doubled down on her jaw-dropping claim.

“I can’t say what it is, but I know. It doesn’t matter,” she said confidently. Of course, the clip that was posted on X generated its fair share of attention and thoughts from social media users. “Is this meant to explain why Kate & Charles announced hospitalization was around the same time? to distract from what’s actually going on with Kate,” wrote one account who is leaning all the way into the conspiracy theories.

Another user thinks that the royal family is leaning into their “work-shy” reputation. “I strangely suspected Charles just said he had cancer to court public sympathy & a way to do less work. Camilla deciding to take a vacation while her husband has cancer even entrenched this suspicion,” they noted. And of course, some people think Malone is the one who is making up what could be a damaging story to the royal family. “I’m not particularly a fan of KC but I don’t think he’d lie about having cancer,” another account said.

What really matters here is how the communications team at both Buckingham and Kensington Palace are failing the royal family on a world stage. Any crisis PR team could get this matter cleaned up and handled within a week, but King Charles and the other working royals are too stubborn to see that there are cracks in the foundation. If it’s not fixed soon, the rebellion against a modern monarchy will continue to fester.
