As a monarch, there are many ways you can learn of your people's disapproval of your reign—public criticism, angry protests, and in King Charles's case, eggs being thrown at your head.

In an odd trend since he stepped up as the United Kingdom's sovereign this September, King Charles III cannot go a full month without being attacked with raw eggs.

Just today, a man in his 20s was arrested for allegedly assaulting the royal with an egg during a visit to a Luton's town hall, Bedfordshire Police said, per the Associated Press.

Charles was greeting members of the public in the town just north of London when a raw egg allegedly flew by him. Videos show the bewildered king being moved to a different area by his security guards before continuing to shake hands with residents.

Bizarrely, this is at least the second time in the past few weeks that Charles has been victim to an egg attack.

While the king was greeting well-wishers during a walkabout in York last month, a protester in the crowd threw eggs at both him and Queen Camilla.

In video footage aired by ITV News, the eggs are seen missing the king's head and splattering on the ground next to him. He glances at the cracked egg briefly before resuming his greetings.

"This country was built on the blood of slaves," the protester shouted after throwing the eggs, per The Northern Echo.

The man was arrested and later released on bail, per the AP.
