Kimora Lee Simmons' Daughter Aoki Gets Pushback on 44-Year Age Gap Romance With Restaurateur

When Kimora Lee Simmons’ 21-year-old daughter Aoki Lee Simmons was spotted last week kissing restaurateur Vittorio Assaf, the internet went bonkers. The issue is Assaf’s age — he’s 65, making him 44 years older than his reported girlfriend. That uncomfortable age gap has many critics on the internet worried about Aoki’s well-being even though she is a full-blown adult (but a young adult).
Page Six shared the PDA snapshots of the duo on April 5 on a vacation in St. Barth’s. Aoki was seen smiling and looking happy with her alleged boyfriend, so she wasn’t in distress, but that still doesn’t make the internet very happy. “I hope Aoki Lee Simmons is okay. This feels… yeah,” one X user wrote. Another added, “I can’t lie Aoki Lee Simmons wild out 65 years old to her 21 is one hell of a jump! Also, her parents fumbled real bad she shouldn’t even need a sugar daddy.” And there is always a big sis on the internet who hopes her advice is heard loudly and clearly, sharing, “Aoki Lee Simmons! AOKI! NO, baby girl! I know you are 21… Don’t do this… You are a notch in that old man’s belt! Get away from him.”

The young model, who is also a Harvard graduate, is reportedly fresh into her relationship with Assaf. The duo is “spending time together and enjoying each other’s company” after meeting on vacation in St. Barth’s, according to a People source. What makes this situation even more complicated for some observers is that Aoki’s father is the controversial music mogul, Russell Simmons, who is in exile in Bali after sexual assault allegations have haunted him over the years. He’s another older man who has bragged about his age-gap romances. Aoki’s mom Kimora was only 17 when she began dating the then-35-year-old Russell — so there is a pattern of behavior that people are pointing out.
In 2020, Russell defended his relationship with ex-wife Kimora in a now-deleted comment from her birthday post. “She was legal at 17 But she turned 18 that may her mother and her manager Bethann Hardison approved supported and Rushed us (we really didn’t need a push) and the love affair began People like to talk every so often i loose my cool and talk back so take this advice,” he wrote, per The Jasmine Brand. “Be happy and share happiness… try to think uplifting thoughts and keep learning to practice love…”
However, Kimora might not be so thrilled about history repeating itself, though. On Friday, her Instagram Story featured a mama panda bear grabbing her baby in its mouth and running away, per Page Six. “On my last nerve right now,” she wrote over the clip. Kimora wants her baby girl to be safe — and so does the rest of the internet.
