Law enforcement sources reported to TMZ that they received a "call to Porter's Toluca Lake home around noon. According to the emergency dispatch audio, the call came in as a patient in cardiac arrest." Another source close to Kim reported that she had been "suffering flu-like symptoms, and possibly pneumonia, for several weeks."

She had even reportedly called her doctor a day prior to her death, saying that she wasn't feeling any better.

Cindi Berger, the longtime rep for Diddy, also confirmed the passing of Porter to the outlet.

"Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter," she said. "I ask that you give the families privacy at this time."

Porter met Diddy at the beginning of his career when he started as a talent director at Uptown Records. The two were on-and-off starting in 1994 and took a long break in 1999, which led to a custody battle over their son, Christian. They eventually broke up for good in July of 2007. While the couple never officially got married, they were known to have a profound love for each other despite rocky times.

Porter also had a son, Quincy, (named after Quincy Jones) from her relationship with R&B crooner Al B. Sure. Diddy also considers him a son. Diddy and his ex, along with their children, were photographed just weeks ago on October 30 at the premiere of Quincy's film, "The Holiday Calendar."

Combs is also the father of two other children, son Justin, 24, and daughter Chance, 12, whom he shares with his exes Misa Hylton-Brim and Sarah Chapman.

Earlier on Thursday, Diddy shared a cryptic message on social media, writing, "God protect me from ANYTHING that wasn't sent by you." It's unclear if he was referring to Porter's death.
