When you have kids, you welcome a certain amount of chaos into your life (read: your every waking minute). But judging by Kim Kardashian’s morning routine, the mom-of-four has a pretty good handle on getting the family’s day started with minimal hiccups. For the most part, that is — Kardashian does fess up to the fact that even she is subject to the occasional unpredictable kid snafu. But still, her a.m. schedule seems pretty damn impressive considering I bribed my two kids out of bed this morning using fruit snacks.
So, in case you somehow missed it, Kardashian and husband Kanye West are parents to North, 6, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 8 months. And, sure, they’re exorbitantly wealthy and likely have help literally popping out of every nook and cranny in their palatial home. However, Kardashian definitely seems like a hands-on mom with her kiddos, and any mom who spends any time around their tiny humans can tell you mornings are basically the hot mess express.

But in an interview with Good Morning America on Wednesday, Kardashian shared what sounds like a relatively seamless morning routine. “The whole day is chaotic but I’m very micromanaged, so I get up at 5:40, in the gym by 6, done 7, they wake up, I get them up at 7:05, breakfast 7:30, out the door by 7:55,” she said, reiterating, “It’s super micromanaged.”

If that sounds woefully unfamiliar to you, as it does to me, don’t feel bad — for starters, everyone does #momlife differently. It takes me longer than 25 minutes to put one sock on my squirrely son. Also, though, Kardashian admitted that life still finds a way to creep in and create chaos. “The other day, my daughter Chicago fell out of her highchair, cut her whole face, stitches, had to figure it all out, so stuff happens, and it’s… you just gotta roll with it,” Kardashian told GMA. “She’s okay, yes. Big scar on her cheek, but she’s okay.”
Yikes! That was surely terrifying for everyone involved. I’m so glad baby Chi is okay. And TBH, it makes me like Kardashian more for being so vulnerable about the fact that no one can micromanage the unpredictability out of parenting.
Kardashian has been opened up quite a bit lately about her family life, including a Twitter Q&A on Monday during which she revealed some of her family’s eating habits — including, you guessed it, what she scarfs down in that 25-minute breakfast window of their morning routine: “oatmeal and vegan sausage.” She’s also partial to “Sea Moss Smoothies.”
And although her mornings may still include a modicum of chaos, there is one thing they invariably don’t include anymore (at least not on her plate). “I eat mostly plant-based,” she shared with her Twitter followers. “No meat anymore.”
