Kim Kardashian's Last Response to Taylor Swift May Indicate Her Stance on the Reignited Feud

Fans might be expecting Kim Kardashian to respond to Taylor Swift’s apparent diss on her new album but the reality star made it pretty clear, back in 2020, that she was totally done with the years-old feud.

“@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now,” Kardashian tweeted in March 2020. “I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.”

Swift, 34, seemed to take aim at the Skims founder, 43, in a track from part two of her album, The Tortured Poets Department, which dropped two hours after the main album release at midnight on April 19.

Fans were taken aback when they noticed one of the album’s tracks, “thanK you aIMee” was strategically capitalized to spell out Kardashian’s name. Lyrics frame “Aimee” as a high school bully with thinly-veiled references that fans believe point to Kardashian.

“When I picture my hometown / There’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you,” Swift sings in the first verse. “And a plaque underneath it / That threatens to push me down the stairs, at our school.”

“And it wasn’t a fair fight, or a clean kill / Each time that Aimee stomped across my gravе,” she sings in the second. “And then she wrote hеadlines / In the local paper, laughing at each baby step I’d take.”

The song seemingly refers to Swift and Kardashian’s falling out after Swift expressed her distaste for Kardashian’s then-husband Kanye West‘s 2016 track “Famous” in which he raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have s-x/Why? I made that b-tch famous.” Swift claimed she was unaware of the final part of the line.

Then, Kardashian released edited footage of a phone call between West, and the “Bad Blood” singer in which Swift appears to approve of the rest of West’s lyrics. Swift maintains that she was recorded without her consent and was not made aware of the “I made that b-tch famous” lyrics.

Kardashian gave her final statement on the feud in 2020, after unedited footage of the phone call was released, seemingly corroborating Swift’s claims about which part of the lyrics she was made aware of before the song’s release. And if there was any conclusions to draw from that tweet, we’re guessing that Kardashian might not weigh in on Swift’s recent song.

She wrote: “To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that ‘Kanye never called to ask for permission…’ They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word ‘bitch’ was used without her permission.”

Reps for Swift noted that the singer never denied the existence of a phone call.
