Kim Kardashian's New Icy Blonde Hair Is the Lightest It's Been in Years

Nobody does it like Kim.

Kim Kardashian is the queen of surprise hair color transformations (see her Marilyn Monroe Met Gala dye job, her honey-blonde hair, or black blunt bob), and the star debuted her most recent switch-up while fully embodying the mob wife aesthetic.

On Saturday, Kardashian attended Homeboy Industries' 2024 Lo Maximo Awards and Fundraising Gala in Los Angeles, where she showed off her new platinum hair color in a chignon bun with a face-framing strand left out on one side. The shade of the social media star's hair was close to white. However, black roots peeked through along the part and the sides.

Her outfit was equally as edgy and included an oversized Balenciaga black faux fur coat that dragged along the floor and looked more gown than jacket. Kardashian held posed while holding the outerwear closed, but matching spandex pantaboots (which the brand has become known for).

Her maximalist accessories, which included chunky bedazzled drop earrings and a giant bauble ring, perfectly complemented the rest of the 'fit, driving home the TikTok trend. Kardashian stayed true to her signature bronzy glam while adding a '90s lip combo and super-long feathered lashes.

The abrupt hair modification is quite impressive, considering it comes just days after Kardashian attended a roundtable discussion on criminal justice reform at the White House with her long dark brown locks. If anyone can do it, however, it's the glam dream team: Kardashian and her longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton. Recall the duo's infamous Met Gala hair, which was achieved with controversial back-to-back bleach sessions, which can be damaging to the hair.

Appleton shared some details from this most recent color job on his Instagram with a roundup of Kim selfies. He captioned the post with a new fitting nickname: "Ice Kimmy 🧊."

"We wanted to keep a short root & the blonde cool & creamy," he wrote. "I colored it in a couple of sessions to keep the integrity of the hair nice and juicy."
