Kim Kardashian West is using her sponsored Instagram posts to promote something other than herself and her family. She has decided that prison reform is a better topic to inform her followers about than products like dieting teas and her own products. Do not be crazy though. She is still a businesswoman and still needs to make money, so her Instagram will still display her own products.

Kim's Work on Prison Reform
Since last year, Mrs. West has taken to social media to inform anyone who will listen about the perils of the prison system in the U.S. This game as a surprise as many know her to be vapid and self-centered. It came as a bigger surprise when she declared to the world she was going to become a lawyer to work intensely on prison reform. She is using more “off-brand posts” to pay for the prisoner’s legal fees.
Instagram Used for Good by Kim?
Her reasoning for this comes from an interview with the New York Times. She said about her journey with prison reform, “Now it’s a little bit more personal for me. If I have a paid post that comes in and I think, ‘O.K., well this can fund x amount of people that are behind bars, that can help free them with simple legal fees that they just can’t afford, then that would be worth it to me, even if the post might be a little bit off-brand for me.”Kim receives requests from all kinds of brands and it is not uncommon to receive thousands for one post. It is incredible to see this happening as most popular influencers are not actively pursuing anything to do with prison reform. Kim has truly come a long way and her attempts to truly impact the view on prison reform is aspiring. It is to the point where she changing her spending habits.
Spending Habits Changed
In pursuit of becoming a lawyer, her spending habits have changed dramatically. She says, “I am really cautious about what I spend. So if I overspend on something and a paid post happens to come in at that time, I’ll weigh it out and think, ‘O.K., well I have to pay for x, y, and z".
