Kim Kardashian has long been praised — and criticize — for setting the modern-era beauty standards. While some of the makeup and skin routine is unattainable for the average household budget, she did have one struggle that many people can relate to: adult acne.

The 42-year-old reality star admitted to Refinery29 that her skin is anything but flawless — she gets those bumps on her face just like everybody else. “Oh, I’ve gotten full acne, like full bouts of it,” she admitted to the media outlet, but having a full-time makeup artist on staff to conceal those blemishes certainly helps the situation. “But I’ve documented it,” she added. “I think if people saw it, they’d be really shocked to know that I had that experience.”
It might be helpful to fans if she shared more of those vulnerable moments because the Kardashians do love a good airbrush and Facetune filter on their photos. Perhaps seeing a textured face would make all of us feel a little more confident that even billionaires get acne. Instead, Kim is more focused on her skincare line, Skkn by Kim, which has afforded her the opportunity to “figure out” what works best for her delicate face now that she’s in her 40s.
