Now, Kim Kardashian West is weighing in on their desire for privacy. In an interview with The Sunday Project in Australia, Kardashian was asked whether she had any sympathy for Harry and Meghan.

"I think everyone has their own journey,” Kardashian said. “I think their journey is extremely personal, with – you know, what his mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by paparazzi. I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them.”

Kardashian West also added that aging has made her very protective of her kids. "I think as I’m older and as I have kids, what I would want for them is just the safest place," she said. "I can definitely empathize with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it."

This statement doesn't come as a huge surprise, especially given Kim's recent discussion about her own struggles with privacy.

In an interview with Vogue Arabia, Kardashian said that, although she didn't regret “putting myself out there for the world to see,” she acknowledged that it does sometimes make her life more difficult.

"I love having a voice and I appreciate the platform that I have been given, even though I do wish I could have more privacy at times,” Kardashian admitted. She also said that her views on privacy changed after she was robbed in Paris, explaining that the transparency of her posts had made it easier for her to be robbed.

“They knew what I had, they knew where I was, what I was doing, and that to me really changed the things that I post," Kardashian West said at the New York Times DealBook Conference.

For her, privacy became much more important. It's also easy to see how, in light of that incident, she would be much more empathetic about the issues that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are dealing with. Sometimes, you want your life to be out of the spotlight.
