For Kim Kardashian, hair is merely an accessory to match your look. After debuting icy platinum blonde locks only two days ago, Kim is already on to the next. Kim Kardashian’s pink hair first made an appearance in 2019 on her trip to Japan, and even though her new look resurrected the same shade of pink, it’s unlike anything we’ve seen from her before. She’s gone through a lot of hair changes, but we could always rely on her long straight hair to be a staple. But with this new look, that one constant is out the window.

Kim has been rocking her natural dark brown hair for almost two years and we almost started to believe her bleached hair days were over. But she quickly proved us wrong after arriving at the Lo Maximo Awards with brand new platinum hair in a low bun. With the 2024 Met Gala days away, we thought she was hinting at a new hair look for the occasion. But after another swift hair change, who knows what she still has up her sleeve.

Last night, Kim posted a photo to Instagram of her brand new short pink hair. The new hair features her favorite shade of bubblegum pink with dark roots. But the most shocking part? Her chic ear-length bob haircut—which might just be her shortest haircut ever. She rocked the new cut and color with a wet-hair look along with a gray turtleneck, black cotton shorts, and thigh-high Balenciaga boots. We’ve all become accustomed to her signature long hair, making this haircut that much more unexpected.

Kim rocked a shoulder-length bob in 2019, but she’s never strayed this far from her long hair. After so many color changes throughout the years, this big chop was a very necessary way to breathe life back into her hair—ushering in a new era, and symbolizing a fresh start. While we know Kim isn’t one to stay with one hair look for too long, we can’t help but hope that her short hair makes an appearance at the Met Gala this year.
