Kim Kardashian has come a long way since she graced her first magazine cover.

In the season finale of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder reflects on how far she’s come. While celebrating Scott Disick’s 40th birthday, the Kardashian family touts that he’s been there every step of the way.

Kim says Disick has “supported me through thick and thin… with me through every phase.”

One of those phases that brought Kim to mogul status? K9 Magazine

The superstar, who has now graced covers of Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar, made her magazine cover debut in K9 Magazine in 2008.

Disick jokes that she doesn't even like dogs, but when it comes to business, Kim responds she'll do “anything for a cover.”

"You went from K9 dogs to the cover of Forbes," Kris Jenner chimes in.

"Now you're an attorney at law, aVogue cover model," Disick replies.

In the story for the dog-lover magazine, Kim introduces the world to the family’s pups, reflects on the second season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians (which went on to run for 20 seasons) and shares her personal motto: “Do whatever makes you happy, don’t conform to what others think you should be doing and, of course, family comes first!”

Last year, in a YouTube video where Kim offers a SKKN by Kim office tour, she revealed that she keeps the K9 cover on the wall.

“This K9 Dog I’ll always keep up,” Kim said.

“I wanted to be on the cover of a magazine so badly, and K9 Dog Magazine called,” Kim recalled. “And I remember I begged Khloé and Nicole Richie to borrow their dogs because I didn’t have a dog and I wanted to be on the cover of a magazine. I don’t know whose dog that is, it’s one of theirs.’”

In the episode, Disick recalls thinking “this show is going nowhere” in the early days of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Kim then credits the family’s ingenuity for their lasting success.

“We scammed the system,” she says in the episode. “We did it, whatever it is. We figured it out and we did it. We put in some hard work."

Kim continues by claiming Disick is her “motivator.”

“He’ll always say, ‘God, can you believe you did it?’” she says. “And I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ We aren’t supposed to be here, like how did we get in this cool party? We weren’t the cool kids. How did we do it?”
