Kim Kardashian Bleached Her Hair & It Feels Like 2017 All Over Again

Kim Kardashian keeps resurrecting her past hair eras. While she started to look like a spitting image of her younger self with her natural dark brown hair, she just referenced another one of her past hair colors with her newest look. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Kim Kardashian’s platinum blonde hair, but that doesn’t make the transformation less shocking. After going honey blonde in 2013, bleach blonde in 2015, icy blonde in 2017, and platinum blonde in 2022, Kim stuck by her signature brunette hair for almost two years. She’s a fan of using wigs to switch up her look, but we have reason to believe she fully committed to the new color this time.

When Kim recently stepped out in a bandage dress and side bangs, we were convinced the old Kim from 2008 was back. But it looks like 2017 Kim is back instead. Kim has gone through so many hair eras throughout the years, and we all have a favorite. We’ve seen her pull off brunette, warm blonde, and even pink—but her new platinum blonde hairstyle is quickly establishing itself as one for the books.

On April 27, Kim Kardashian debuted her icy platinum blonde hair at the Lo Maximo Awards. She wore her hair in a sleek bun with a middle part and a single face-framing piece. And she let her dark roots peek out from underneath her new silver color. The hairstyle was the perfect complement to her awards show ensemble—a strapless black dress, a fluffy floor-length coat, and diamond earrings so long they grazed her shoulders.

The most notable thing about Kim’s new platinum blonde hair color? It might be a hint about what she’ll look like at the 2024 Met Gala. The first Monday in May is quickly approaching, and Kim always goes all out. In 2022, she bleached her hair for the event—and kept the platinum blonde hair color for the rest of the year. We suspect she might be doing the same this year, but we could just as easily imagine the star shocking us with another huge change.
