Kim Kardashian, Alyssa Milano speak out after Santa Clarita shooting: 'How many need to die?'

Celebrities are weighing in on social media following news of the Saugus High School shooting in Santa Clarita, Calif.

On Thursday morning, a 16-year-old gunman opened fire in the school's quad area and shot five students before turning the gun on himself. Two people were killed and four injured – including the gunman – in a 16-second shooting rampage.

Kim Kardashian said she was "heartbroken" over the news and offered her thoughts and prayers to the families affected by the shooting.

"Wow just heard about another senseless shooting in Santa Clarita - absolutely devastated and heartbroken," she wrote on Twitter. "Praying for the families and everyone who has been effected by this tragedy."

Khloe Kardashian weighed in as well saying that places of entertainment no longer offer a shield of safety and she felt "helpless."

"In today’s world, everything that should be innocent seems to be the opposite. Going to the movies, school, concerts... such a helpless feeling when you feel there’s a solution but the powers that be won’t do anything," she tweeted. "Everyone stay safe and always check in on your friends."

The incident was the 30th shooting attack at a school this year, according to the gun safety group Everytown and celebs said enough was enough.

Alyssa Milano took to Twitter to ask how many more children have to die in order for change to happen.

"Another day. Another school shooting. When will we demand meaningful change?" Milano wrote. "When will our voices mean more to our elected officials than their funding from the NRA? How many children need to suffer? How many need to die?"

"Speechless" actress, Minnie Driver, simply tweeted out a photo of a freeway sign that read "0 days without a school shooting." She hashtagged the photo #GunControlNow and #EnoughIsEnough.

Debra Messing offered her prayers and said the mass shootings need to stop.

"Not AGAIN. OMG. I am praying for all the people physically hurt and spiritually traumatized by the #SantaClarita school shooting," the "Will and Grace" star tweeted. "This MUST STOP. We must protect our children."

Latoya Jackson echoed Messing's sentiments, tweeting out a news segment of the Saugus shooting and calling for an end to gun violence.

Arianna Huffington also called for gun reform writing that the world is willing to accept images of "traumatized students" more so than they are willing to pass gun laws.

"No matter how many times we see it, it will always be shocking that the image of traumatized students walking out their school with their hands up is more tolerable than passing common sense gun laws," the founder of the "Huffington Post" wrote.

Filmmaker Michael Moore, said he was not going to offer his prayers but he had "many thoughts" to give.

"This week’s school shooting, 7:38am PT this morning at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California. 6 students shot, 2 dead as of now. I have NO prayers, but MANY thoughts," Moore tweeted. "We Americans are a strangely frightened people with 340 million guns in private possession. Madness!"
