"Killers of the Flower Moon," the Martin Scorsese movie largely filmed in Oklahoma based on the true story of the Osage Murders was nominated seven Golden Globe awards Sunday, but only one won.

Directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone Robert De Niro, "Killers of the Flower Moon" is nominated for best picture in the drama category and all four individuals are nominated for their roles. The movie's screenplay and score are also nominated.

So what are the odds the outcome of these categories means winning an Oscar at the Academy Awards? Well first, the individuals and film elements need to be nominated. That won't happen until late January, but assuming they do, here's a breakdown of which categories are historically most likely to win again:

Winners: 'Killers of the Flower Moon' looks to contend for Oscars. These Oklahoma films already have

Lily Gladstone wins first Golden Globe; Oscar for Best Actress winning odds higher than for best actor

Like the "Best Actor" categories, the "Best Actress" honor was split into drama as well as comedy and musical in 1951 by the Golden Globes.

Those who win in the drama category have about a split chance of winning an Oscar, with the occurrence taking place 42 times, or 52.5% of the time. This included in 1989 when there was a three-way tie for the Golden Globe between Jodie Foster, Shirley MacLaine and Sigourney Weaver and Foster was given the Oscar for her role in "The Accused."

Golden Globes best actors have almost a 1 in 7 higher chance of winning at both awards shows than best actresses do.

'It's a moment for all of us' Lily Gladstone on Oscar-bound 'Killers of the Flower Moon'

While winners in the "comedy" Golden Globes category have only won 17 times, or 21.2% of the time, that's more than double the winning odds of best actors in that division.

Lily Gladstone won a Golden Globe for her performance in the role of Mollie Burkhart Sunday.

Martin Scorsese didn't win a Golden Globe but Best Director Oscar odds are even.

The award has been given at both award shows since 1944. The Academy Awards were not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and instead held in 2021, honoring movies released in 2020 and the first two months of the next year. The 2021 Oscars recognized movies made in the last ten months of the year.

This category is a complete tossup, with the winner being the same 41 times out of the 80 total times the award out in each year. That comes out to a 51.2% chance of the winning director being honored in both and a 48.8% chance they aren't.

'I am culpable' Martin Scorsese explains his cameo in 'Killers of the Flower Moon' ending

Martin Scorsese has won three Golden Globes as best director, but didn't on Sunday when the award was given to "Oppenheimer" director Christopher Nolan did.

The only time Scorsese won a Golden Globe and an Oscar was in 2007 for his work on the movie, "The Departed." He's been nominated for directing by the Golden Globes ten times and nine times for an Oscar.

Leonardo DiCaprio didn't win Golden Globe, a category where 'Best Actor' has a 2/3 chance to win an Oscar

This award has also been given out since 1944, but in 1951, the Golden Globes split the best actor category into two, creating one for drama and another for comedy and musicals.

With it happening 53 times in history, winning a Golden Globe in the drama category means an actor has a 66.2% of having an Oscar given to them. This included in 1984 when Tom Courtenay and Robert Duvall shared the Golden Globe, but Duvall was given the Oscar for his role in "Tender Mercies."

It is far more rare for a "comedy" winner to be honored with an Oscar. That's only happened seven times, most recently in 2011 when Jean Dujardin was honored for his role in "The Artist." That means the odds of it happening are just 8.8%.

Leonardo Dicaprio has won three Golden Globes for best actor, twice for drama and once for comedy. On Sunday, he lost to Cillian Murphy, who was given the award for his role in "Oppenheimer."

DiCaprio only won the Oscar in the same year as the Golden Globe in 2016 when he was honored for his role in "The Revenant." It's the only time he's won an Oscar for acting, having been nominated five times. He's been nominated for a Golden Globe twelve times.

Robert De Niro doesn't win Golden Globe; Oscar for Best Supporting Actor a toss-up

Unlike the other acting categories that are split into two, there is only for Best Supporting Actor and Actresses.

The winner has gone onto to claim the Oscar in the same category 43 times, or 53.8% of the time. This included in 1980 when Melvyn Douglas and Robert Duvall shared the honor, with Douglas winning the Oscar for his performance in "Being There."

On Sunday, Robert De Niro didn't a Golden Globe in the category following his nomination, losing to Robert Downey Jr. for his role in "Oppenheimer."

De Niro won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in 1981, also winning the Oscar the same year for his role in "Raging Bull." But the longtime actor has been nominated by the Academy Awards during two different years that saw no such recognition from the Golden Globes.

This included a nomination for his supporting role in "Silver Linings Playbook" in 2014 and in 1974 for "The Godfather II." De Niro won the Oscar that year without any Golden Globe appreciation. He's been nominated three times in both awards show and not won, too.

Golden Globe for Best Screenplay least likely on list to indicate Oscar win

This award began to be given out by the Golden Globes in 1947, but no awards were given out between 1955 and 1964.

Of the 66 times this award has been given both awards shows, the same person has won 18 times, or 27.7% of the time.

Up for the award was Martin Scorsese is Eric Roth, but Justine Triet won for her role in "Anatomy of a Fall." Including "Killers of the Flower Moon," Roth had been nominated five times in this category for films like "Forest Gump" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Best Score: Golden Globe and Oscar winner odds

This award began to be given out by the Golden Globes in 1947, but no awards were given out between 1952 and 1958, as well in 1963 and 1981. The Academy Awards have occasionally had two similar categories for this honor, distinguishing between original scores and adaption of scores.

Of the 67 times this award has been given both awards shows, the same person has won 32 times, or 47.7% of the time.

Up for this year's Golden Globe was Robbie Robertson, a former guitarist with Bob Dylan who has collaborate with Martin Scorsese on several of his films. He lost to Ludwig Goransson, who won the award for the "Oppenheimer" score. A winner of two Grammy Awards, this was Roberton's first nomination for a Golden Globe for scoring.

Golden Globes Best Picture for Drama has better Oscars odds than Comedy/Musical winner

The Golden Globe for Best Picture has been awarded since 1943, but the awards show split into the drama and comedy/musical category in 1952.

In looking at the winners since the split, the drama winner has gone on to win the Oscar 34/72 times, or 47.2% of the time. This happened last in 2020 when "Nomadland" won both honors.

The comedy/musical best picture award wasn't given in 1954, but it is far more rare for that winner to see success at the Oscars. Of the 71 times the two awards were given, there have only been 12 of the same winners. This most recently happened in 2018 with "Green Book."

"Killers of the Flower Moon" didn't win this Golden Globe either, again ceding the victory to "Oppenheimer."
