On November 28, 1994, an inmate named Christopher Scraver beat convicted serial killer and sex offender Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, to death. Dahmer was serving 16 consecutive life sentences at the Wisconsin-based Columbia Correctional Institution at the time of the incident.
According to CNN, Scarver, offended by the confessed cannibal‘s sense of humor, hit him twice in the head with a metal bar from a weight room. “He ended up dead. I put his head down,” recalled the former to the New York Post. Following this, he also murdered a second prisoner named Jesse Anderson.

In a 2015 interview with the New York Post, Jeffrey Dahmer’s killer, Christopher Scraver, spoke about his motives. For the first time, the latter openly discussed the reasons he whacked Dahmer in the prison gymnasium. The man also confirmed using a 20-inch-long, five-pound metal bar to commit the crime.
The outlet reported that Scraver, now serving two consecutive life terms, claimed he despised Dahmer’s behavior and sense of humor. The latter would reportedly turn prison food into severed limbs and taunt his fellow inmates. He believed “[Dahmer] crossed the line with some people – prisoners, prison staff. Some people who are in prison are repentant – but he was not one of them.”
CNN reported that Scraver murdered Dahmer and a second inmate named Jesse Anderson on November 28, 1994. The incident occurred during an altercation while the latter two were on an unsupervised work detail at the Columbia Correctional Institution gym.
Christopher Scarver, who was serving prison time for a shooting incident, kept a newspaper article that detailed Dahmer’s crimes. The clipping reportedly included details about the latter’s murders of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Other disturbing details about the serial killer‘s crimes included him having sex with corpses, collecting body parts, and performing cannibalism.
Reportedly, Scarver revealed that he first confronted Dahmer with the clipping and asked if “he did those things ’cause I was fiercely disgusted.” Immediately after this, he hit Dahmer twice in the head and also murdered Anderson.
According to sources, Scraver was later sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for both murders.
