'To Kill a Mockingbird,' 'Moulin Rouge' top Marcus Center's Broadway series for 2023-'24

"To Kill a Mockingbird," "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" and "Funny Girl" top the list of shows scheduled for the Marcus Performing Arts Center's Broadway season during 2023-'24.

Also, MPAC Presents' jazz and dance series will feature guitarist Pat Metheny, vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant and the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

Here's a look at the Marcus Center's plans, organized by season. All performances take place at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, 929 N. Water St.

Broadway at the Marcus Center

"Disney's Aladdin," Oct. 17-22. This lavishly designed and costumed magic carpet ride of a musical includes the hit "A Whole New World."

"To Kill a Mockingbird," Nov. 7-12. Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of Harper Lee's famous novel about injustice in the South.

"Funny Girl," Jan. 9-14, 2024. The revival of the musical that was a signature role for Barbra Streisand.

"Mamma Mia!," Feb. 20-25, 2024. Celebrate Father's Day early with the jukebox musical based on ABBA hits.

"Clue," March 12-17, 2024. "Knives Out" fans should welcome the mystery-comedy based on the popular board game.

"Tina — The Tina Turner Musical," April 23-28, 2024. Turner's life and hits power this jukebox musical.

"Moulin Rouge! The Musical," May 14-26, 2024. The adaptation of Baz Luhrmann's glitzy movie set in Paris.

Casting for these productions will be announced later.

MPAC Jazz series

Pat Metheny, Oct. 5. One of the world's leading living jazz guitarists returns.

Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jan. 27, 2024. Only 33, Salvant has already won a MacArthur Foundation "genius" fellowship for her remarkable musicianship, singing in English, French and Haitian creole.

Delfeayo Marsalis & The Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Feb. 29, 2024. The trombonist and bandleader has been described by one writer as "the most fun of the Marsalises." His orchestra digs deep into New Orleans musical traditions.

MPAC Dance series

Dance Theatre of Harlem, Feb. 14, 2024. High-level professonal ballet performed by Black dancers and other artists of color.

Hubbard Street Dance Company, March 9, 2024. Chicago-based contemporary dance company.

MOMIX's "Alice," April 11, 2024. The playful, athletic dance company performs a trippy show for all ages based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland."
