"Yesterday morning, my wife took the kids home and then I flew here," he told the outlet on Saturday. Culkin shares son Wilder Wolf, 2½, and daughter Kinsey Sioux, 4½, with wife Jazz Charton.

"I haven't had a moment to rest, but I'm really looking forward to when I get home. These last couple of weeks, I haven't really been much of a parent, which makes me feel like s---," he admitted.

"It makes me feel like I'm not me. So I'm looking forward to, I'm gonna turn the world off for about a week and just be a dad."

While accepting the award for outstanding lead actor in a drama series at the 75th Emmy Awards, the actor gave a shoutout to his wife and their family during his speech, thanking her "for sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids."

At the end of his speech, he quipped that he wanted more children as his wife laughed from her seat. "You said maybe, if I win!" he added.

Following his speech, Culkin clarified to reporters that he’s been asking his wife about having more kids for “a while.” "Jazz said, ‘Maybe if you win the Emmy,' ” he recalled. “I didn't bring it up for months, and then when I won the Globe, I said, ‘Do you remember what you said?’ And she was like, ‘What? No. What did I say? I don't remember this.’”

“So I told her, and then it all came back to her,” he continued. “So then she spent the whole week being nervous."

In a chat with Taika Waititi for Interview last year, Culkin opened up about balancing his work and home life as he was filming a project in Poland.

"I have a 1 1⁄2-year-old and a 3 1⁄2-year-old, and we’re going to be bouncing around Poland. I don’t like being away from them for more than two days at a time, and it’s not practical for me to have them there the whole time," he said.

He went on to recall a conversation with a friend who had to travel away from his kids for months at a time, saying, "I remember thinking, 'You must have a very disconnected relationship with them.'"

"Then I see him with his kids, and they’re still intensely close. I guess there’s just an understanding that Dad has to go away for long stretches of time. But I saw that and I’m like, 'Oh, okay. There’s still a chance to be a good parent and have a connection with your kids even if you’re busy,' " said Culkin, adding, "But then again, my kids are between 1 and 3. I do need to be home because if I go for a week, they change."
