Emo rock veterans The Get Up Kids have announced a North American tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their beloved 1999 album Something to Write Home About. The band will perform the record in full each night, bringing along the Smoking Popes as support.
The band is set to preview the run on June 23rd at the Pittsburgh music festival Four Chords before officially kicking off the jaunt on August 23rd in Dallas. They’ll then hit cities like Austin, Los Angeles, Seattle, Columbus, Brooklyn, Chicago, and more before wrapping up on October 13th at Las Vegas’ Best Friends Forever Fest. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, April 25th at 12:00 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster or the band’s website.

“Anybody can start a band when you’re 20 and go on tour and have a couple of years of fun with that. But what it became, at least to us, is the reason that we can still do this now,” vocalist Matt Pryor said in a statement. “We are doing this as a celebration, and we’re going to have a party every night on stage.”
