There will soon be some New Kids on the Block in Austin.

The 1980s pop band sensation announced it’s coming to Austin — and two additional venues in Texas — during its 2024 Magic Summer Tour in July. The tour is a reimagining of the band’s 1990 tour of the same name and will be its first mostly outdoor venue tour in 15 years.

The band is scheduled to perform at Germania Insurance Amphitheater, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, on July 12. The band also planned performances in The Woodlands and Dallas on July 13 and July 14, respectively.

What can I expect at the concert?

New Kids on the Block plans to play its greatest hits, unexpected fan favorites and “magical surprises” during its tour, according to a news release from Live Nation, an event ticketing website.

“The true ‘magic’ of this tour is in the music, the moments and the memories that we get to create — and recreate — with our amazing fans each night,” said singer Donnie Wahlberg, according to the release. “Feeling all the nostalgic feels of the original Magic Summer, with the bond that we’ve shared throughout the years, will make for a most magical time indeed.”

The tour will feature Grammy Award-winning musicians Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff as special guests. Abdul has sold 60 million records and won a spate of music awards, and Jeff, a renowned DJ and music producer, has worked with Michael Jackson, Jill Scott, Darius Rucker and more.

The tour announcement comes just ahead of New Kids on the Block’s newest album, “The Block Revisited.” The album is meant to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the band getting back together in 2008.

How can I buy tickets?

Citi credit card holders will be allowed to order presale tickets from 12 p.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday through the Citi Entertainment program. Tickets can be bought starting Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation here: livenation.com/artist/K8vZ9171GRV/new-kids-on-the-block-events.
