New Kids on the Block are making a toast to never growing up as they announce their first album in more than a decade, Still Kids. The album is set for release on May 17 and follows up their 2013 full-length 10. “This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle,” Donnie Wahlberg shared in a statement. “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”

Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood have unveiled the album’s title and release date alongside the new single “Kids,” an Eighties-pop track about making the most out of however much time you have.

“It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made,” Wahlberg added. “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.” The singer served as creative director on the album in addition to co-writing half of the 14-song tracklist with Lars Halvor Jensen and his production company DEEKAY Music.

McIntyre is a credited writer on six records on the album that were created with songwriter and producer Sean Thomas. “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth,” McIntyre said. “After almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”

Shortly after Still Kids arrives, New Kids on the Block will embark on the 2024 Magic Summer tour, making stops throughout North America from June through August. The tour, first announced last October, will feature special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff, who is featured on the album track “Get Down.” The album also features Taylor Dayne on “Old School Love.”
