Kid Flash Saves the Day as the Flash Takes a Backseat ... Again

Ever since Barry was unable to save Iris from Savitar in the future, he has been a little off his game. In the last three episodes of The Flash, Barry has taken a bit of a backseat to the other members of Team Flash. Last week Cisco was the one who saved the day, while the week before that, Kid Flash stepped up and became the hero. This week’s episode, “Untouchable,” was no different, as Kid Flash was the one who handled meta-human villain Clive Yorkin.

Clive was after Joe and some other cops who busted him in Flashpoint, and when he showed up to CC Jitters to kill Joe, it was Kid Flash who blew him away. Clive got away and got another shot at Joe later when the detective was warning another officer that Clive was tracking him.

Joe rode a train toward a huge pile of debris that Clive had put on the tracks. While the Flash phased the train through the debris, saving everyone, Kid Flash took care of Clive. Even though Wally had been struggling with phase through things, he was able to phase through Clive, leaving some of his blood in Clive’s body, equalizing his powers.

So once again, the villain of the week had to be taken out by someone other than Barry. It will be interesting to see when The Flash starts taking down bad guys again, or if the show title will be changed to Kid Flash.

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CW.
