Kid Cudi And ‘Star Trek’ Introduce ‘Boldly Be’ Campaign

Hip-Hop’s Man On The Moon is officially headed to outer space.

Kid Cudi and Star Trek have teamed up for the Boldy You campaign, which includes new music, merchandise, and more. According to a press release, The collaboration will launch on Oct. 12 at the start of New York Comic Con, coinciding with the release of an original Kid Cudi song, “Heaven’s Galaxy.”

Described as inspired by the Cleveland rapper’s fandom in the science-fiction franchise, the song was written by Kid Cudi and produced by longtime collaborator Dot Da Genius.

Featuring Star Trek-inspired mantras like “Live Long and Rage,” the Kid Cudi x “Star Trek” capsule collection includes t-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, a custom button-up top, and a colorful leather varsity jacket with robust chenille and embroidery details. Following the Comic Con preorder window exclusively for attendees, the collab will be available on the official website Oct. 16.

Additionally, the campaign introduced a music and gaming collaboration, STAR TREK X KID CUDI: MIRROR MAYHEM, bringing the worlds of both Star Trek and Fortnite together. The Grammy-winning rapper is set to perform his brand-new Star Trek-themed music collaboration, as well as never-before-heard songs from his new album, INSANO.

Gameplayers partner with Captain Skyles, portrayed by the “Mr. Rager” rapper, on a mission to uncover the source of a sonic anomaly that threatens the peaceful planet Vada.

According to a press release, Boldly Be takes its inspiration from “Star Trek’s ethos of IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations), the basis of Vulcan philosophy that the vast variables create truth, beauty, and strength.”

Kid Cudi’s INSANO is set to be released in January 2024 and is described by the 39-year-old as “all new energy.”

“I ended up makin some more shit cuz I was in the f**kin zone and I wanted to make something undeniable and change my entire live experience. This album was made for tour next year. Get ready,” he detailed.
