The O’Keefe Music Foundation, a youth music education program in Ohio, has unleashed its latest video — a blistering cover of Nine Inch Nails‘ “Wish” that’s well on its way to viral fame.

The O’Keefe Music Foundation (OMF) is a nonprofit music organization that seeks to provide high quality music education to any child in the world for free. OMF has a particular affinity for helping its students create music videos for YouTube, with the new NIN clip being a stellar example.

This isn’t your standard performance clip, but a full-on professional concept video befitting of a major band. What starts as a rather humdrum birthday party goes off the rails when the kids pick up their instruments and lay waste to the living room where their gear resides, ripping through the 1993 NIN single.

Imagine a children’s b-day party turned DIY house show and you’ll get the gist. The musicianship is airtight and everyone is clearly having a blast — both the kids playing the actual song and those slam-dancing in the bonkers music video. While the lyrics are a bit more kid-friendly — “Big-time, hard-line, bad luck, fist … bump!” — these youngsters still bring the heavy.

The musicians on this cover include: Brackston Applegate (age 8, keytar), Zoë Franziska (10, lead vocals), Logan K (10, rhythm guitar), Seba Stephens (11, bass), Xander Markewich (13, lead guitar), and Will Bright (18, drums). Aaron O’Keefe served the director, audio engineer, and producer.

Previously, we’ve reported on O’Keefe Music Foundation covers of Slipknot’s “The Heretic Anthem” (also featuring Zoë Franziska on vocals) and “The Devil in I,” as well as Pantera’s “Walk” and “Becoming.”
