Don’t say we didn’t warn you: If you leave a sassy comment on Khloé Kardashian’s Instagram, she will probably be sassy right back. On Thursday, the reality star posted a new photo showing off her makeup and hair, which seemingly grew overnight thanks to bronde extensions that match her new, darker hairstyle. A taupe smoky eye, plenty of lashes, and neon nails complete the look, which she showcased atop a tie-dye turtleneck from fashion label Off-White.
And when one user asked the reality star and Good American founder “Why do you look so different in all your photos?” Kardashian didn’t miss a beat. “My weekly face transplant clearly,” she replied.

The back-and-forth comes just days after the star uploaded a photo which left many fans speculating about how she achieved what seems to be a radically different look. In addition to dying her formerly-platinum hair a light brown, people on Instagram and Twitter alike suggested that plastic surgery or a Photoshop app like FaceTune might have played a part in the change.
Kardashian has been open about her experience using fillers, as well as her weight journey, but has never said she has received plastic surgery. In fact, this sarcastic comment is perhaps as close to a definitive answer as we might get. While some fans cheered her on for the “clap back,” as UsWeekly noted, other commenters were just as sarcastic in “praising” her for her response.
“Finally the truth,” one person wrote. “That’s not a clap back. That’s just being honest at least,” another replied.
As plastic surgery techniques become more advanced — and as our society becomes more reliant on visual-first apps like Instagram — more and more people are seeking procedures. According to the American Society for Plastic Surgeons, doctors performed almost 250,000 more procedures in 2019 than in 2018. And the public’s stance on procedures is softening, too: Last year, Mandy Moore told People, “I don’t see what the big deal would be anyway. It’s like, whatever someone does to make themselves feel better; I don’t pass any judgement.”
