Khloé Kardashian defends post-baby workouts: 'Just because I have a baby doesn't mean I have to stop'

Kylie Jenner is no longer the only Kardashian-Jenner sister getting flak for focusing on her figure after giving birth.

Jenner’s use of a waist trainer just weeks after having daughter Stormi Webster raised eyebrows and concerns from health experts, but now it’s big sister Khloé Kardashian‘s turn to take some heat.

Kardashian, who welcomed daughter True Thompson in April, went on Snapchat to defend getting back in the gym so soon after childbirth.

The 33-year-old reality star acknowledged the critical comments she’s received on social media about her post-baby workouts. According to Kardashian, she resumed her fitness regimen less than two weeks ago and is finding it “difficult” because her body is tired.

“What I’m annoyed about is that I’ve read a couple of times on Twitter that, you know, they feel that I’m focusing too much on my body. But the truth is, I’ve worked out five or six days a week before I got pregnant — and that’s my sanctuary and something I love to do,” she told fans in one Snapchat video posted Monday.

“Between feedings I want to find time to work out, because that’s going to be my new normal,” she said. “Just because I have a baby doesn’t mean I have to stop doing the things that I love, and I love working out and getting my mind right.”

Kardashian also shared that she might start posting footage of her workouts. She has already taken a Snapchat video from her gym, where she shows off her postpartum figure and shares her plans to trim down her backside.

But it will take effort, she acknowledged.

“The beginning parts of working out kind of suck because you’re pushing your body so hard, you’re so tired, and you’re trying to get back into your rhythm,” she said.

“It’s much more difficult than I think you expect it to be. I’ve been working out for 11 days now, I feel really good, but tired. My body is sore because it’s re-waking itself back up.”

Postpartum recovery is a process that affects new moms differently. Kardashian’s posts come just a day after actress Tia Mowry opened up about her plan to resist pressure to slim down after having a baby.

Included in Mowry’s Instagram post: “You’ve just accomplished a miracle! Love yourself, love your new body, embrace it. If you want to make changes than that’s your desire and no one else’s.”
