Khloé Kardashian Calls Jameela Jamil a 'Silly Person' For Weight Loss Product Critiques

And the Khloé Kardashian-Jameela Jamil cold war continues. In the latest round of barbs being traded between these two, Kardashian called Jamil a “silly person” in a new interview after she was asked about Jamil’s harsh critiques of Kardashian and the rest of her family for their promotion of weight loss products on social media. Jamil has been an outspoken critic of this business move from the Kardashians as well as other celebs, even speaking about it at SheKnows’ BlogHer Health conference earlier this year. Now, Kardashian is going on the defensive once again, making this conversation dicier than we could have ever expected.

Ahead of the season 16 premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on Sunday, March 31, The New York Times published a lengthy interview with the Kardashian clan. In that interview, Kardashian vaguely commented on Jamil’s critiques for promoting weight loss products like Flat Tummy Tea on her Instagram. Most recently, Jamil left a comment under a photo of Kardashian posing in the mirror, showing her toned physique with some of the product on the counter, saying, “If you’re too irresponsible to : a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product … And b) tell them the side effects […] then I guess I have to.”

As reported by Elle, Kardashian commented on how she regularly posts photos and videos to Instagram and Snapchat of her workout routine and in doing so, reacted to Jamil specifically, saying, “Well, listen, I am showing you what to do, silly person, 15 repetitions, three times, here’s the move…”

The comment, which seems like an offhand comment on the surface, really struck a chord with Jamil, who was not about to let that half-hearted explanation of what’s really going on slide. Jamil retweeted Cosmopolitan magazine’s coverage of Kardashian’s comments, writing, “Essentially, ‘fuck the young, impressionable people, or those struggling with eating disorders, we want the money.’ I have been given these same opportunities to flog this stuff, and I don’t do it, so they don’t have to. Thank you, next,” and going on to colorfully remark that the Kardashian’s “pockets are lined with the blood and diarrhea of teenage girls…” Oof.

Jamil has been candid in the past about her own personal history with eating disorders and today has become a body positive advocate who doesn’t hesitate from calling out harmful diet culture practices when she sees them. Even so, we’re bracing ourselves to see if Kardashian will respond to these latest comments.
