Khloé Kardashian on Ex-Husband Lamar Odom: 'He Is the Love of My Life'

Khloé Kardashian shows her body and talks about her marriage to Lamar Odom in the September issue of Women’s Health.

The magazine world really thinks we want to read about Khloé Kardashian’s body because — bam! — here she is on the cover of another magazine (Women’s Health) talking about how she got that body (exercise and diet, duh).

While we applaud her for setting goals and achieving them when it comes to fitness — and mutter how, as a reality star, she does have all day to work out — what we really care about in her interview with the fitness mag is what she had to say about Lamar Odom. And, although they signed their divorce papers last month, she said some nice things. Like, really nice things.

“I love Lamar to death,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 31, said about the former NBA player, whom she married in 2009 after a whirlwind courtship. “He is the love of my life.”

That’s high praise, especially in light of how they split. Amid rumors that he was cheating and addicted to drugs, they were living apart by the fall of 2013 and Khloé filed for divorce that December. However, in the new interview, she maintains that they had a good thing going when they were mister and missus.

“We had a fantastic marriage,” she continued. “Do I wish he had tried harder? Yes. Do I think that he maybe didn’t have the energy to fight because he was fighting so many other things? Yeah.”

Khloé’s recent interview in Complex’s August/September issue was amazingly similar in that she showed her body (though that one was bootylicious and this is leggylicious), talked about working out, and gushed over Lamar. She revealed that she had talked to him that morning and speaks with him "as often as I can, which is inconsistent, but not on my terms.”

“Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I’ve ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him,” Kim Kardashian’s little sister said. “I think Lamar’s gonna always be that person [for me] but that’s what made it so special. Even if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I’m grateful I did. Some people don’t get that ever and I had that magic for a long time.”

She added, “I miss him every day. I miss what we had — things we got to do together are just memories. I like looking back and holding on to that stuff. I definitely miss it, and there’s times I’ll get so sentimental and so sad, but this had to happen for some reason. I’ll figure it out over time, someone will give me that answer eventually.”

With all the gushing over Lamar, you’d think they were trying to work things out, but, again, the divorce finally happened. She also shares with Women’s Health what she’s looking for in a man, an apparent required question all magazines ask single female celebrities.

“I like someone that can make you laugh, for sure. But the best part about having a boyfriend is someone you can be your most comfortable with. Whatever that is that makes you feel the most at ease,” she said before adding her physical requirements. “Obviously you have to be physically attracted in some way. Normally I’m a muscle girl. You have to be athletic, not an athlete. I like athletes, but you have to be athletic because I’m an athletic person.”

Good news for Houston Rockets star James Harden, if he’s game. But she may need to let up on the Lamar gushing a bit.
