Kevin Spacey experienced a health scare while visiting Uzbekistan for a film festival, and he says it's given him some new perspective.

During a speech at the Tashkent International Film Festival, in Uzbekistan's capital, the House of Cards and Usual Suspects actor recounted having heart-attack-like symptoms at a local museum. "I was looking at these extraordinary murals on the walls, and I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds," said Spacey, 64, adding that he underwent "a variety of tests," including an MRI. "Now, everything turned out to be completely normal, and I am of course grateful that it's not anything more serious."

Spacey also said the episode gave him a new outlook on life: "It also made me really take a moment and think to myself how fragile life is for all of us, and how important it is that we come together, that we support each other, that we do what we can for the next generation."

Representatives for Spacey didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Wednesday.

Spacey's health scare comes in the wake of him being found not guilty on nine charges of sexual assault in a U.K. trial in July. Four men accused the American Beauty actor of sexually assaulting them in London between 2001 and 2013. Spacey maintained that two of the four encounters were consensual, a third was a "clumsy pass," and the fourth did not happen at all.

Since actor Anthony Rapp initially accused Spacey of sexual misconduct in 2017, more than a dozen men have made similar claims. Spacey has denied all allegations.
